Werewolves


You’ve probably heard of werewolves from the two movies called Underworld and Twilight. Some folk tales say that the description of a werewolf is still looking human, having sharp teeth, long nails, and pointy ears. Other wolf like creatures are able to stand like humans. Another group of werewolves are believed to have a manlike torso and arms, a wolf head, and legs that measure to 6’2-6’3feet tall. A movie called Van Helsing describes werewolves to the fullest. There have been various methods to becoming a werewolf that have been reported. One method is to drink water out of the footprint of the animal. In Italy, France, and Germany, it's believed that if a man can turn into a werewolf by sleeping outside on a summer night on a Wednesday or Friday with the moon shining directly on his face. In Galician, Portuguese, and Brazilian folklore believes that the seventh son of family (or seventh son of six daughters) becomes a werewolf. In Portugal, the seventh son turns into a werewolf to and the son gets the Christian name “Bento” this name means blessing. They name the son that so when he grows up he won’t become a werewolf. In Northern Argentina they would abandon, ceded in adoption, or killed the seventh sons. In 1920, a law passed that stated that the President of Argentina becomes the official godfather of every seventh son. Also, the state gives the son a gold medal after his baptism and a scholarship until his 21st birthday. This law ended the abandonment, but the President still becomes the godfather of seventh sons.
